Cate Weisbrodt and Carrie Hurt

Cate is studying Agricultural and Animal Sciences with a Pre-Veterinary concentration. She plans to graduate in May 2025 and has a 4.0 GPA.

Cate excelled in life sciences all her life, but it wasn't until she owned and cared for an animal of her own that she realized her passion for animal sciences. Cate thought getting a pet would bring a minor change to her life, but she quickly discovered that caring for her guinea pig was transformative. She realized that the process of caring for her animals helped her care for herself.

Cate is passionate about Animal Sciences because she understands the importance of companion animals. Cate knows this is her life calling, and she currently works in a veterinary clinic as a technician.
