Bobcat Bucket List #70

Bobcat Bucket List #70: Volunteer at Bobcat Build

Bobcat Build has been a Texas State tradition for 20 years. Started in 2003, this “thank you” from Bobcats to the San Marcos community is the largest community service event on campus. Each spring, students volunteer to help community members repair their homes, clean up lawns, and landscape local schools and churches.

Bobcat Build is goes beyond just a day of volunteering. The day is planned and coordinated by their student org, consisting of 40 members. Local organizations partner with the students to contribute money and resources essential to the build.

With over 4,000 volunteers, Bobcat Build is able to serve over 300 sites in the community. Both groups and individuals can volunteer, and it often leads to new friendships between students and even the residents they serve.

The Stelos Alliance Student Organization successfully completed their first Bobcat Build in 2023. Anyone is welcome to join our group for the build and become a part of a close community of student leaders. Please email rose.bythrow@stelos.org for more information.
