Alumni Profile: Thibault Gehin

“I’ve always liked to give back and be part of a community,” Thibault Gehin said.

Thibault, nicknamed Tbo, is a Texas State alumni. He came to the United States from a small town in France with “more cows than inhabitants.” The Rotary Club helped him get here, Texas State students and faculty encouraged him to stay, and now he’s giving back by funding two scholarships.

Thibault loved Texas State so much, he decided to get two degrees there. He graduated with his Bachelor’s of Business Administration in 2015 and finished his MBA in 2023.

“I was at Texas State for awhile,” Tbo said. “One thing I tell everybody is that there’s so much available. There are so many people that want to help you.”

During the first semester of his senior year, Tbo was having drinks at Grin’s with a friend who told him to get involved with Stelos Alliance. He applied to join the Housley Principled Leadership Program and was selected. This program led to an internship and eventually a job after he graduated.

Tbo now works as a financial analyst doing business development at Morrison Financial, and he decided it’s his time to give back.

“I think everyone should give at least as much as what they get,” Tbo said. “And I feel like I’ve been given a lot.”

Tbo is helping Texas State students by funding the Outstanding International Student Award and the Outstanding MBA Student Award. When Tbo was a student, he was awarded both of these himself, but they didn’t have money attached. He decided to add money to these awards and help students skyrocket to the top.
