Board Member Q&A: Nathan McDaniel
Meet Nathan McDaniel, one of our new Stelos Alliance Board Members! Nathan is a former Political Staffer and is now the Manager of Business Development at Proscalar. Along with supporting Stelos, Nathan volunteers at the Central Texas Food Bank and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.
Nathan is the co-founder of the Capitol Cats Internship Program.
Why I support Stelos
As an undergraduate at Texas State, I directly benefited from the Stelos Alliance. I met inspiring leaders who became friends and mentors when I participated in the Housley Principled Leadership Program. I also received a scholarship my senior year! The financial help as a student was an unexpected and very appreciated surprise. I was grateful for the support of Stelos, and now as an alumni I feel compelled to help others in the ways I was helped. It's inspiring to be a part of an effort to help exceptional student leaders in their journeys.
My greatest accomplishment to date
As a professional, helping my team win multiple multi-million dollar political campaigns was a great accomplishment. I recently joined a new company and am enjoying being a part of it's growth as well.
As a student leader I was encouraged to run for and was elected student body president. Two accomplishments I'm proud of in that role are establishing a matching grant program for students who are presenting academic research and identifying and creating a space in the LBJ student center for veteran students.
On a personal note, I married the woman of my dreams who pushes me to be better every day. We have a house filled with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and friends coming over for dinner and game nights.

One of my guiding philosophies in life is 'the quality of life is based on the relationships you build' and I believe that intentionally surrounding yourself with people who inspire and challenge you forces you to be the best version of yourself. I'm driven by the fact that I can positively influence my community and help those in my circle achieve their goals. My overall goal is to leave this world a little better than I found it - for my friends, family, and for the future generations to come. That's why I'm proud to be a part of the Stelos Alliance.
