Pi Kappa Phi – Eta Rho Chapter Scholarship

History of the Scholarship

In 2026, friends, family and alumni, in conjunction with the non-profit organization the Stelos Alliance, pledged to create and support a scholarship for the undergraduate brothers of the Eta Rho Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. This scholarship serves to recognize undergraduate brothers who bring credit to the fraternity by striving to attain the highest possible standards of scholarship. These brothers lead in the classroom, in the chapter, and on campus as they work to make the Eta Rho chapter an ideal chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. This scholarship will be presented annually to an undergraduate brother of Pi Kappa Phi that exhibit academic excellence, leadership, and pride in both Pi Kappa Phi and Texas State that every brother should strive for.

Eligibility Requirements

The scholarship will be awarded to a student at Texas State University through the Stelos Alliance on an annual basis. Criteria for the recipients include but are not limited to the following:

· Student must be a member in good standing with the Eta Rho Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at Texas State

· Student must be classified as a sophomore, junior, or senior at Texas State.

· Student must have 30 completed hours..

· Sophomore or junior classification will be enrolled in 12 hours or more at the time of selection. Senior classification may be enrolled 12 hours or less at the time of selection.

· Student must have an overall Texas State GPA of at least 2.70.

· Student must have demonstrated leadership qualities.

· Student must have invested time and service to Texas State and the Eta Rho chapter.

· Students that have previously been awarded the scholarship are not eligible.

· The recipient(s) will be in good standing with the University at the time of selection.

· Graduating seniors are eligible to receive this Scholarship.

As part of the application process a personal essay is required.

Essay Prompt:

· Describe how your involvement in campus life has contributed to both Texas State University and Pi Kappa Phi. How have your past and present activities made an impact? What are your goals for continued service to both the university and the fraternity while you are still a student?

· Additionally, tell us about any work experiences, internships, or commitments you’ve held outside the university and how they’ve shaped your character and direction.

· Lastly, reflect on your intentions as a future alumnus. Do you plan to give back to Texas State and Pi Kappa Phi? If so, in what ways? How has your journey so far influenced your motivation to stay involved and serve in the long term?

A selection committee will be formed with members that are dedicated to the continuing legacy of leadership exhibited throughout the history of the Eta Rho Chapter.

The selection committee shall have full responsibility for reviewing each application, establishing the eligibility of each applicant and deciding who shall receive the scholarship. The committee shall select the recipient of this scholarship based upon a majority vote of the total membership of the committee present at the time of the selections.

Application Process

The Scholarship shall be presented annually at the Stelos Alliance Scholarship Awards Banquet. The time and place are to be determined by Stelos Alliance but will be in San Marcos, TX.
