History of the Scholarship
The scholarship was created and is supported by Michal Waechter, Founder and CEO of Waechter Consulting. She earned her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Texas State University and has more than a decade of experience in the San Antonio market. She specializes in business development and has diverse experience in strategy, program execution, operational improvement, physician outreach, brand positioning and consumer engagement.
As a lifetime Bobcat, Michal wants to encourage other Texas State females to feel empowered.

Student enrolled in and completing Honors College Course HON3397J, also known as Housley Principled Leadership.
Application Process
The department’s awards committee reviews eligible graduating seniors and selects the recipient, typically by March 1.
