Herbert’s Taco Hut is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant on the edge of town serving inexpensive, traditional Mexican food. They’re known for their $7 specials that change based on the day. Remember to bring cash because Herbert’s special prices are cash-only!

Herbert and Dora Rizk founded the restaurant in 1976 and have since passed it down to their son. Many of their employees have been there since day one, and after decades of steady business, they earned a San Marcos Key to the City. They have a strong customer base of Texas State students, San Marcos locals, and returning Texas State alumni.
