Bobcat Bucket List #97: Laugh Your Way through Open-Mic Comedy at Wake the Dead

Wake the Dead is a coffeeshop just a few minutes drive from downtown San Marcos. This shop opened in 2008 and has been serving creatively-designed lattes ever since. While they’re a great place to grab caffeine, they also host community events like their weekly open-mic comedy night.

Texas State is home to one of the best theatre programs in the country, so there are plenty of students ready to try their hand at performing. Every Tuesday night, anyone can sign up to perform and try to get some laughs.

In addition to their weekly open-mic nights, Wake the Dead hosts musical performances, DAA meetings, and professional comedy nights. They serve a variety of vegan food to keep you fed while you watch a show or attend a meeting there.
