Student Spotlight: Mia Moran
Mia Moran is a senior at Texas State University studying Public Relations. Originally from League City, TX, Mia was drawn to Texas State when she was recruited for the cheer team after attending a clinic.
Mia was a Texas State cheerleader starting in 2022 and retired in the summer of 2023. During her time with the cheer program Mia received rookie of the year and was nominated for the Bobcat Spirit award! She remains consistent in her support of Texas State and her leadership at the university all throughout her years of attendance.
Outside of her studies, Mia stays busy in the multiple organizations which she is involved. She holds herself to a high standard of leadership and grace as the president of the Alpha Delta Pi (ADPI) Sorority here at Texas State. Mia shares that being part of this sorority has provided her with numerous opportunities, including three major roles. These experiences have played a key part in her growth and self-discovery as a leader. She hopes to come back as an advisor post graduation to serve as a tool to help girls navigate sorority life!

Mia is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), where she connects with students and professionals. Through meetings, workshops, events, and hearing guest speakers, she has gained valuable industry insights. Access to experienced professionals has helped her understand career paths after college. Mia plans to stay involved in PRSSA after graduation to continue building relationships and expanding her experience.
Mia is also a member of Texas State Involvement and Engagement, where she focuses on content strategy and posting. This organization oversees Greek life, leadership, and service initiatives at Texas State, including events like Bobcat Build and Riverfest. She values the opportunity to highlight campus resources and encourage student engagement. Mia is confident that the skills she has gained, particularly in social media management, will benefit her in the future.
Mia finds motivation from her two nieces, knowing that she has two young girls looking up to her in everything that she does drives her to be the best version of herself! With the achievement of being on the Dean's list every semester, it is no doubt she pushes herself to excellence!
After graduation, Mia plans to take the LSAT and apply to law school this fall, aiming to start in 2026. In the meantime, she intends to work in public relations to explore which career path suits her best. She also dreams of spending at least three months living in Italy. No matter where her journey takes her, she is excited to embrace new opportunities and experiences along the way.
