Bobcat Bucket List #37: Study in the Quad

The Quad is a busy, tree-filled central mall between many major academic buildings at Texas State. This area can go from 7 to 7,000 students in just a matter of minutes. The Quad is also home to a number of TXST events, student organization tabling, and market days!

If studying outside isn’t your thing, venture into our history building - Taylor-Murphy! Consistently voted the most beautiful building on campus, Taylor-Murphy has a soundproof courtyard and a beautiful fountain which makes it a calm study spot with a view.

The Quad is also home to the Fighting Stallion Statue, a 17-foot sculpture which was gifted to TXST in 1952 by the Huntington family. The Stallions are known on campus as our “free-speech area” where students and community members can freely share their ideas and hear new perspectives.
