Michael Flowers

Alumni Profile: Michael Flowers

Michael Flowers took a nontraditional path into university and business. He was playing college baseball when the September 11th attacks led him to leave school and enlist in the US Marines, where he served until 2006, completing multiple tours in Iraq.

Following his military service, Michael returned to school attending Texas State University, where he quickly immersed himself in student leadership through Student Foundation and Student Government while also working closely with Texas State Athletics.

During that time, he was introduced by the Dean of Students, Dr. John Garrison, to Bill Poston and Melinda Keller, founders of Stelos Alliance. That relationship has now spanned more than 20 years. Michael became the first student intern at Stelos Alliance, gaining early exposure to scholarship and service that continues to shape how he operates today.

That foundation directly influenced Michael’s work with Carry The Load, where he is the Founder and Chair of the Carry The Load Scholarship. Developed in close alignment with Stelos Alliance, the program supports Gold Star children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. In 2025 alone, the scholarship awarded more than $130,000, honoring the sacrifice of our nation’s fallen by investing in the futures of the children they left behind.

Professionally, Michael is the Founder and Principal of Indco Partners, a Dallas–Fort Worth based real estate development firm. He has more than 15 years of experience in the industrial sector, with a track record that includes the development of more than three million square feet of industrial projects. Prior to founding Indco Partners in 2024, he held leadership roles with Stream Realty Partners, Prologis, and Jackson-Shaw.

Michael remains actively involved in the Dallas community, with a strong focus on youth athletics and public schools. He has volunteered as a youth baseball coach for more than eight years, mentoring and developing young athletes both on and off the field.

An alumnus of Woodrow Wilson High School, he is an active donor, booster club member, and participant in the scholarship review process. He also led the effort to redevelop the Woodrow Wilson baseball field, working with DISD and the Dallas Parks Board to secure

funding, design, and approvals for a project that will serve as a long-term asset for future students and families. More broadly, he supports DISD schools and athletic facilities through ongoing philanthropic involvement.

He is also a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. His career, military service, and philanthropic work reflect a consistent commitment to service and investing in his community.
