Bobcat Bucket List #47

Visit the LBJ Museum

The LBJ Museum houses a number of unique presidential memorabilia, vintage photos, newspaper clippings, campaign materials, and other various artifacts. The museum has both in-person and online exhibits including “The Lady Bird Special,” “Traveling Trunk,” “LBJ in College,” and even a short quiz!

The museum hosts multiple events throughout the year like lectures, a fundraising gala every January, and a fundraising golf tournament in the spring.

The museum’s staff takes great pride in the museum for creating such an intimate and educational ambiance that honors Lyndon B. Johnson.

“We try to show him as a normal individual, which I believe creates a more intimate and relatable experience,” said Debby Butler, LBJ Museum manager. “He was very proud to be a Texan and call San Marcos his home, and we hope to continue honoring his legacy for many years to come.“
