March 1st, 2012

Rick Burchfield, President of Commercial Wireless Solutions (a Motorola Solutions Platinum Channel Partner) and longtime friend of the Stelos Alliance orchestrated a $15,000 grant to support three installments of the Housley Principled Leadership Program.

With the support of CWS and Motorola, the Stelos Alliance will be equipped to cover hard costs (food, books, printing, transportation, scholarships and banquet) for three semesters of the Housley Principled Leadership Program, reaching over 75 student leaders.

In 2011, the pilot of the Houseley Principled Leadership Program graduated 15 students. In spring 2012, 25 student leaders out of over 50 applicants from across Texas State University’s campus were accepted.

Stelos has the vision to use the HPLP to empower students across multiple college campuses, the original curriculum promotes the self-awareness necessary for the Millennial leaders of tomorrow. Stelos also aims to connect HPLP participants with business leaders who desire the kind of dynamic students selected for the program, providing opportunities for quality people to work together to build organizations of principle and integrity.

Burchfield started Commercial Wireless Solutions in 2001; CWS provides upper tier digital voice, data and video solutions to the Public Safety and Industrial/Petro Chemical Industries. In 2011, CWS was ranked #2 amongst all Motorola Channel Partners in the North American region. Additionally, Rick and CWS support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Special Olympics and Texas Equusearch.

Burchfield is a recipient of the 2012 Stelos Alliance Award.
